David has over 20 years of paddling and high level sports experience. Growing up on the rugged West Coast of Ireland he was immersed in kayaking and the outdoors from a young age. Surfing, playing polo and river running were his outlets as a teenager and the foundation for his paddling ability. Over the past 10 years David has moved into ultra endurance racing and expedition paddling. He is passionate about the ocean and when he is not paddling he can be found kite surfing or SUP surfing his local breaks. A strong believer in experiential learning David also works in environmental and marine education, sharing his passion for the ocean with children all over Ireland and inspiring the next generation.

I count myself lucky that kayaking is both my hobby and my job. The water is my classroom, office and playground. Teaching and guiding people into this magical world is gift and seeing others take to this sport and start their own journey is incredibly rewarding.
